The Diamond Jubilee Pavilion

Jubilee1

The Diamond Jubilee Pavilion will be a warm and welcoming pre and post-match venue, a hub for College sport and a base for outdoor activities. The one-storey building will be positioned towards the centre of the New Ground and will include changing rooms, referee and first aid rooms, and a large social space with a café-bar. The Pavilion will benefit not only Brighton College, but will see the New Ground playing host to matches and tournaments from other community groups.

Its position, at the foot of the South Downs, makes it the perfect location from which to run outdoor activities such as CCF and the Duke of Edinburgh award; in particular, navigation skills, orienteering, field craft and night camp tasks. It also better equips the area for activities including archery, kiting and geography field work.

The project will also bring further improvements to the New Ground. Parking will be improved and the capacity increased, new fencing and entrance gates will enclose the site, and the ground will be enhanced by tree planting around the perimeter. Floodlighting will be installed for the netball and tennis courts, greatly increasing the opportunities to use these facilities.

Work on the Diamond Jubilee Pavilion has now begun, and with the main framework now in place, the new sports hub is beginning to take shape. When completed, the warm and welcoming sports hub will transform pupils' and parents' experience at the New Ground, and provide facilities that reflect the sporting excellence at the school.

JP Construction

Fundraising is continuing in order to fund the surrounding landscape works and there are still opportunities to contribute at all levels, including exclusive naming opportunities. All those who give will be invited to a special opening event at the new Pavilion later this year, bringing together friends and supporters in celebration of Brighton College sport.
