Sweet Surprise for Monster Publishing

Monster Publishing has been one of the most creative, hard working and dedicated Young Enterprise companies in Brighton College's recent history. They won the coveted prize for Best Product at the area finals for their hugely popular children's book 'The Monster Guide to Brighton: A Sweet Surprise'. Authors Kate Aspinall and Alice Best were joined on stage by the illustrators Harrison Perry and George Shaw, and the rest of the company, to pick up the cup, which was presented by the Managing Director of Chauffeur Monkey. The judges' feedback was filled with praise, commenting that it 'really is one of the most innovative and exciting products we have ever seen in this area.' The company took a very professional approach from day one, voting in the Directors and taking their roles seriously. They worked well together to see the book from inception through to the final print, with Harrison setting up a highly creative website, featuring excellent cartoon graphics, on the way.

Then the marketing team took over, firstly with a couple of sales opportunities in Churchill Square and the Holmbush Centre, where their persuasive techniques secured healthy sales. Not content with reaching this narrow audience, they spread their wings into the world of retail, persuading City Books, The Kemp Town Bookshop and Waterstones to stock the book.
