Dance
Dance in the Lower and Middle School is aimed at nurturing enjoyment and self expression as well as building confidence in a range of dance styles. The Expressive Arts Carousel and the Activities Carousel develop strength, stamina and flexibility through Jazz, hip hop and Physical theatre work. GCSE Dance offers those with a passion for the subject, a platform to develop their creativity and performance skills.

Fifth Form (Year 10 & 11)
GCSE Dance
GCSE Dance is an exciting subject to study for those who have a natural passion for dance and its related arts. Pupils will study:
- a range of different dance genres including ballet, tap, modern, contemporary and jazz dance.
- professional dance works as well as learn about the history of ballet and contemporary dance.
- choreographic techniques
Pupils will also have the opportunity to take part in professional dance workshops.
The GCSE Dance Scheme of Assessment is split into four
key components.
- A written paper worth 20% of the total marks which is taken at the end of the two year course. Candidates answer questions on a minimum of two professional dance works.
- A practical dance examination worth 20% of the total marks where candidates are required to perform a set dance.
- A Performance in a Duo or Group, worth 20% of the total marks.
- Choreography worth 40% of the total marks.
- Solo Composition (15%)
- Group Choreography(25%)
