Cross Country

Member of staff i/c: Miss S Sturgeon
Although the majority of cross country races take place in the Lent Term there is the opportunity for all runners to participate in running throughout the year. In the Michaelmas Term there is the House Cross Country, with senior runners also participating in the West Sussex Fun Run League. During the Lent Term there are matches on Saturdays including the Knole Run, Wellington Relays, Sussex Champs and Schools Championships held at Harrow.
In the Summer Term there are the John Pope Relays (named after the former Director of Sport), in which teams of three complete three laps of the Home Ground before handing over to another runner. Training is effected through athletics and the running group where there are strong middle distance squads in all the boys and girls age groups. Runners are also encouraged to participate in Schools' Biathlon and some local Triathlon events.
