Rugby XVs

Member of staff i/c: Mr N. Buoy
Brighton College has a strong rugby tradition dating back over its 160 year history. During that time, numerous players have earned representative honours, both at schoolboy and first class level. Rugby is the main winter sport of the College.
During the Michaelmas term, the College fields twelve rugby teams from Under 14s through to 1st XV. On a Saturday, over 75% of the boys have the opportunity to pull on a college rugby shirt. The 1st XV and Under 15s compete in the National Daily Mail Cup with the 1st XV also competing in the St Joseph's and Sedbergh National festivals. Those players aiming to play representative rugby have the opportunity to play for Sussex and for Premiership clubs through links with Saracens and Harlequins. The college continues to play rugby after Christmas for those who choose to do so. Fixtures continue on Saturdays with the style of rugby moving towards that needed for the National Sevens & Tens Competitions.
