1st XI Win Opening Game of BOWS 2011 Cricket Festival at Sedbergh

Sport(s): CricketIn the third year of the BOWS cricket festival held between Brighton, Oakham, Wellington and Sedbergh, the college 1st XI won its opening game against Oakham by 5 wickets. The festival this year is being hosted by Sedbergh having been at Wellington in 2009 and Brighton in 2010. Bowling first the college side bowled Oakham out for 164 with Jamie Thornely being the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 11 off 7 overs. With the bat the 1st XI reached the total set with 8 overs to go and 6 wickets in hand. Captain Adam Davies started well supported by James Chapman, then Jamie Thornely and Jethro Menzies finished the innings of with a partnership of 90. Tomorrow's game is against Wellington at Netherfield CC.
