The college 1st XI finished runners up to Sedbergh at the BOWS Festival. They entered the last day with two wins under their belt and at first the weather looked like it might be the winner but both teams were keen to finish the tournament with some cricket so they took to the damp field in a reduced overs match. Brighton's performance in the field was the best so far and regular wickets throughout the innings (Menzies (2), Kalidasan (2) and Bahemou (3)) meant that Sedbergh were bowled out for 139 off their 35 overs. In response the College lost some early wickets but Adam Davies (57) looked like he was controlling the run chase well and Brighton kept in touch with the run rate throughout. Unfortunately the loss of Davies sparked a collapse and Brighton ended up 26 runs short of a maiden festival title. The team showed real courage and determination throughout the festival and become the team with the most wins in the festival history but the prized title still alludes them, for the moment.
