Sport is also important at the college but the emphasis is on getting involved rather than being the best. The college regularly provides sportsmen and sportswomen higher up the school for Sussex and England teams but we are most proud of the sheer numbers engaged in sport each week. Sports in the Lower School include: football, netball, cricket, rounders, rugby, hockey, swimming, water polo, shooting, gymnastics and volleyball.

The performing arts are a major part of Brighton College life. Lower School pupils have the opportunity to perform music, to dance, to sing, to act and to speak in public. The aim is to encourage children to think creatively and to develop their artistic senses in whatever direction.

There are regular trips organised each year for pupils, commencing with a residential activity weekend after four weeks in the school as a means to cement early friendships and establish new ones.
