Our Year 3 pupils have been learning about Ancient Egypt this term. In Week 7, our pupils enjoyed a trip to Brighton Museum. They were amazed to see real Egyptian artefacts from thousands of years ago up close. They made careful, detailed illustrations in their sketchbooks of fascinating items from those days. The highlight was taking part in the mummification workshop. Here, they extracted the organs from a life-sized ‘body’ and washed and bound the body ready for the journey to the afterlife. This was supervised by a high priest and special amulets were chosen to be put with the pharaoh. The morning ended with a sunny picnic lunch in the Pavilion Gardens.
