Dance is central to the fabric of Brighton College and provides a community spirit that none of our pupils ever forget.
Boys and girls currently dancing at the College all performed in the simply brilliant annual dance show held at Brighton Dome theatre every Trinity term.
This year’s show featured routines from The Greatest Showman, Titanic, Annie, Singing In The Rain and many more, with the Dome’s audience enthralled with the stunning choreography and professionalism of the show.
The Lower Fifth’s Anya Mercer is currently setting the dance world alight with her performances and, working with Senior Ballet Mistress Victoria Allport, recently won the Royal Academy of Dance’s coveted Choreographic Prize.
Anya started dancing at a young age when she was a pupil at Brighton College sister school St Christopher’s Prep School in Hove. Since then she has passed her Advanced RAD 1 ballet exam with distinction, which made her eligible to compete for the prize, which is open to 14-17 year olds. Anya was the youngest entrant and previous winners have been more at the upper age range.
