Last month, Aldrich Fourth Form hosted a Valentine's night like no other, transforming the Jubilee Pavilion into an Alpine Ski Lodge for a night of fondue, wine and prizes.
With a little guidance from their tutor team, Aldrich devised and coordinated the night as part of their Social Entrepreneurship project, an innovative element of the College curriculum in which pupils develop business plans to generate money for a charity of their choice. The Aldrich boys were working to support the Connections in Mind Foundation, a UK charity that works to improve educational and well-being outcomes for children, young people and neuro-diverse adults
This was the first event the boys had ever put on. Working together, they served and entertained over 90 guests and raising a fantastic total of £3500. Noah, a pupil involved in the event, commented: "I felt I was out of my comfort zone, I didn’t realise I was capable of so many things." Another pupil, Johnny, said: "It’s brilliant to know we have helped make a difference to other people's lives."
Well done to the boys for hosting such a successful event.
