Benedict Chen-Wade (Year 8) performed alongside Edie Behr (L3) and Riya Hamie (U3) in a masterclass led by Brighton College artist-in-residence and royal wedding cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason.
Sheku congratulated them on their playing and for their success in winning the title of Pro Corda National Chamber Champions earlier in the year.
Along with his brother Braimah and sister Isata, both talented musicians, Sheku gave the group many words of wisdom and said he was looking forward to returning in the near future in their role as artists-in-residence.
The Kanneh-Mason Trio went on to give a recital that evening to a packed house and afterwards they signed autographs and met pupils and visitors. Sheku was performing just prior to his performance at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Years 4 to 8 were keen to pass on their best wishes and good luck messages to Meghan and Harry. These were handed by the pupils for Sheku to present to the newlyweds.
