What a year the Prep School has had. The boys enjoyed a fantastic range of matches this year and everyone was able to participate, whether for the U9C, U11F, 5th IX or the respective A teams.
The highlights this year? The U11F football team played beyond our expectation in the BeTrewe Cup at Handcross Park, losing just one match in this friendly tournament. The youngest teams played with the great spirit, attacking boldly and revelling in high scoring matches. In comparison, the older age groups showed the progress and development by playing with greater defensive organisation and using their speed to counter-attack teams effectively.
The pick of the bunch was the U11s, combining the talents of our year 6 and year 5 pupils. Not only did we field a great range of teams, allowing all to take part, but our boys were also very successful. The A team was crowned 7-a-side champions of all schools in the Brighton and Hove district. They then earned the mantle of the best team in Sussex and went on to represent Sussex at the ISFA National Finals at St George’s Park. They came a creditable 7th out of 18.
