As the elements swirled above the gorgeous green pasture below, the intensity on the blades of grass grew with each fleeting minute. At the day's end Brighton College U16s lift the All England National 7s title in imperious fashion. It had been a dominant display: outperforming, outmanoeuvring, outnumbering their opponents on route to sparkling success.
Hosted by the London Oratory School in Kensington, schools from across the country swarmed on the capital for a feast of Sunday rugby. And from the off Brighton College seized control of the knockout stages, winning four matches on route to a final that saw yet more silverware on its way back to the Sussex seaside.
Crowned champions of this competition for the second time in our rich history - the other time occurring in 2015 with a fledgling Marcus Smith as captain - Nick Buoy's side remained defiant throughout in what was further success for the rugby department.
An exceptional effort throughout!
