Sri Lanka College Trip
02/07
This Saturday, 12 Brighton College sixth formers are travelling to Sri Lanka on a two week volunteer trip of a lifetime.
Based between the cities of Galle and Matara in the south of the island, the pupils will spend their days in seven jungle schools painting classroom walls, teaching photography, playing cricket, clearing rubbish and just "being" with some of the country's most impoverished children. One of the projects will be the refurbishment of Nawalla School's English dept (pictured) with posters and bookshelves. The trip is part of the college's ongoing support of "Extra Cover", a charity started after the 2004 tsunami, providing basic essentials to some of South Asia's poorest children.
