Music

Every class from Nursery to Year 3 enjoys music lessons, taught by a specialist music teacher, as part of the curriculum. From Nursery, children learn to recognise notes in a fun and memorable way. This is then developed in Reception when children learn to sing and play written patterns of notes. All children in Years 2 and 3 learn the recorder and there is the option to learn the violin, cello, guitar, trumpet and fife.
Musical shows and concerts are held twice a year in which every single child in the school takes part. The children love this involvement in drama and music which also helps to build their self-confidence.
