Personal, Social Health and Citizenship Education

PSHCE

Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education aims to give children the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to lead confident, healthy and independent lives and to become informed, active and responsible citizens. We consider social and moral dilemmas and right and wrong behaviour, including bullying. PSHCE is taught through circle time and other subjects. Morning assemblies are also used to reinforce school rules and acceptable behaviour.

We have a weekly award assembly where children are given stickers for effort, kindness and good manners, which builds confidence and a positive feeling about themselves.

Regular individual target setting allows our children to recognise their strengths and weaknesses and make simple choices. Children sit together and discuss their thoughts and feelings and share responsibilities in a respectful atmosphere.
