Drama at the Prep School
Drama is an vibrant feature of life at the prep school. It is regarded as an important expressive art which enables pupils to flourish in a non-academic environment. Children are able to access drama in a number of ways; there are separate drama lessons for those who wish, which follow the LAMDA syllabus and the children are encouraged to take examinations and receive accreditation for their work.
In addition, there are a number of school productions each year. These are run for specific age groups so that each child has the opportunity to perform in a piece most suitable for their age and abilities. These shows are always very popular and parts are highly sought after!
There is the interhouse drama competition where children have the opportunity to put their acting talents to work in front of their peers. Competition here is fierce!
Finally, the staff produce their own dramatic extravaganza in the Staff Christmas Pantomime. Although the talent here may be questionable at times, it is always well received by the pupils, many of whom see their teachers in a whole new light.
