History
In our most recent inspection report it was observed that in the prep school "teachers make history fun and the pupils respond positively to such an approach." We certainly agree and it is our aim to encourage an interest in the past and to do so in as enjoyable a manner as possible.
In years 4 and 5 pupils are taught in their form groups, and in years 6 to 8 history is setted in conjunction with English. In the final two years our pupils study the Tudors and Stuarts in preparation for the common entrance examination.
History is a demanding subject and high standards are expected, but a love of the subject is developed in a relaxed yet purposeful environment. As a result of this our common entrance results are very good indeed.
