Mandarin

Beginning in 2011/2012, all Year 4 pupils receive one weekly lesson of Mandarin Chinese. Our pupils are thus being given a head start in studying the language of a nation that is playing an increasingly pivotal role in the world.

They will continue the subject in ensuing years, so that by 2015, all year groups will be learning Mandarin and developing their awareness of Chinese culture. Our lessons focus on making Mandarin fun and engaging through a range of activities that cater to the needs of different learners.
