BCPS is an all-action school, well known for its friendly and welcoming atmosphere and its high standard of pastoral care.

As the Good Schools Guide says: "This school seems such a fun place to be - the corridors are bright and buzzing, the children are engaged and talk nineteen to the dozen!" We prioritise the children's enjoyment of school, the provision of a very broad range of opportunities, the building of warm and strong character and the fulfilment of each child's potential.

Features of the school include:

• Being given the rare accolade of the top possible ranking of 'excellent' in all eight inspection categories (Independent Schools' Inspectorate 2011)
• One of the strongest sports departments in the region. BCPS has won the U13 county netball championship seven times in the last eleven years and also gained the national (IAPS) U13s netball title in 2011. The school's 1st XV won the 2013 county title in rugby and also excels in cricket and football
• Outstanding music with three choirs, two orchestras, a concert band and various groups for guitars, strings, wind and percussion. The department is supported by 35 visiting music teachers and is renowned for its high quality concerts, musicals and recitals
• Many opportunities for dance and drama, including a thriving programme for LAMDA coaching (speech and drama awards)
• Very strong DT and art departments with an impressive track record of success
• Around 70 extracurricular clubs/activities at lunchtime and after school with a huge range of trips and house competitions
