Sport
Sport at Brighton College Prep School
County and National playersSport forms a great feature of life at Brighton college Prep School. All of our children get to experience a wide variety of different sporting activities through PE and games lessons as well as in a staggering array of clubs and societies. The ethos of the sports department is firmly embedded in the idea of every child being given the opportunity to develop their potential to the very best of their abilities. With this in mind, the children receive coaching from experienced teachers, each with their own fields of expertise. All children get the opportunity to play in competitive matches, either through fixtures against other schools or through the extensive house competition system. The emphasis is always on enjoyment and we hope that our children leave us with a love of sport and a desire to continue participating which will stay with them throughout their life.
Enjoyment
We run teams at every age group and try to include as many children as possible in competitive matches against other schools. The main aim is to engender a love of sport and to give the children the opportunity to gain fulfillment through competitive sport. We celebrate the occasions when we are successful, but realise that enjoyment and sportsmanship are key factors in a child’s sporting development.
Choice
The children are encouraged to pursue sports in which they are talented or interested. The school aims to provide a broad choice for them through the games syllabus and through our extensive list of clubs and activities. The school offers opportunities to improve skills and to compete at a high level in swimming, tennis, squash, badminton and athletics.
