Trips and activities

Year 5 have a range of exciting trips and activities throughout the year. These are in addition to over 60 clubs and activities that are offered throughout the year during lunch and after school times. Many year 5 pupils also have music lessons with one or more of the 27 visiting music teachers and more and more of us are now taking up drama lessons too. There really is never a dull moment.

Michaelmas Term

As part of our history studies, we have an amazing ancient Greece day. This involves dressing up in 'chitons', preparing food in H.E for a banquet and creating an array of arts and crafts. In this term we also have a workshop with ‘Shakespeare 4 Kids.’ This is a great opportunity to continue our work on plays and drama. We love going to see the play after we have studied some of the story and characters.

Lent Term

This term sees us visiting the Natural History museum to tie in with our Geography topic on volcanoes and earthquakes. We also have a Victorian day which is run by a company called 'History off the Page'. From this, we are able to sample what life was really like over a hundred years ago.
