Christian Union
fThe College Christian Union is a loose affiliation of pupils and staff who share a common relationship through personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ, or are genuine seekers exploring issues of faith.
Meetings during term-time take place as follows and anyone is welcome to attend:
Fridays, 8.30am. (Dance Studio) "TGIF" - An opportunity for everyone attending to hear an encouraging piece of scripture and then split up into groups and pray for each other as well as for the school and fellow pupils.
We are currently exploring the best possible day and time to hold our 'God and Gateaux' meetings which will consist of a short presentation or talk and opportunity to discuss or ask questions. These meetings will include a bite or two to eat and drink! Once the day and time has been finalised, we will be sure to post the details on this website as well as advertise it on notice boards around the school.
We also invite outside speakers into the College from time to time, often to address the whole school in Morning Chapel, and then to put on a lunch-time presentation developing further their theme from Chapel.
'Grill a Christian' takes place at least once a term and will be extensively advertised on school and house notice boards. This is an opportunity to ask any 'burning' questions you may have about the Christian faith in a secure and unthreatening environment.
What can the CU offer to the ordinary Brightonian, wrapped up in a busy programme of events and activities?
- a place to ’chill out’ amidst all the pressures of the working day
- genuine friendship without having to live up to an ’image’
- application of Biblical principles to issues of everyday life
- time to consider some of the fundamental questions of existence
Prayer requests (anonymous or otherwise) may be placed in a box on the CU notice-board in the Main Corridor, or e-mailed to prayer@brightoncollege.net
