History at Brighton College is a highly successful and popular subject, with 81% of pupils gaining A*/A at GCSE and 100% gaining A or B grades at A level in 2008. The approach of the Department is scholarly but also imaginative, with the importance of varied teaching, humour and independent learning emphasised for all year groups.
The Department also organises trips to the Somme Battlefields, Berlin, Italy and America.
A knowledge of History is essential for every thinking citizen in the 21st century. How do you know where you are going if you do not know where you are from...?
