Ken GrocottHouse Staff
- Mr Ken Grocott: MA Cantab, Director of Boarding, Designated Person for Child Protection. Friday evening and weekend duties (L5th tutor). Ken is now in his third stint as boarding housemaster, having run School House twice in recent history. He taught at Oakham and Malvern before arriving to teach at Brighton as Head of Geography in 1990. He helps with cross country and football, and is also overseeing our links with Tsinghua School in Beijing. He has three children at the college, and his wife Mary is also a full time classical guitar teacher in our Music department.

Another history teacher and sports coach, Mr Jones is also a black belt in Twaekwondo and is engaged to be married to Felicity. Mr Jones also runs a small boarding House in Eastern Road and is a highly conscientious boarding master. Mr Jones has a BA (hons) History University of Sheffield and an MA in Historical Research, from the university of Sheffield.

A biologist and all-round scientific genius, Mr Lewis is also a sports coach, CCF officer and a dedicated and experienced boarding master. Mr Lewis has a BA (hons) in Zoology from Liverpool University and is an accomplished sportsman.

Matthew arrived at Brighton College this year having studied Genetics at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne where he also completed his PGCE. Previously, he was a pupil at Portora Royal Grammar School in Northern Ireland. Matthew enjoys rugby, cricket and Irish literature. He has also travelled extensively. mreeve@brightoncollege.net

Miss Cecile Mayanobe: House tutor first evening prep(4th Form Tutor)
Cecile is the Head Librarian at the school and she is also the school’s careers advisor. Cecile is French and helps the Sixth Form linguists prepare for their exams. She is a diligent and approachable tutor who has an excellent working relationship with her charges. Miss Mayanobe has an MA in Information Studies from Brighton University and an MA in English/ American Literature and Civilisation from the Université de Clermont-Ferrand.
