Contacts

fVirtually all communication between the College and home comes via the Houses and the importance of good communication links cannot be overstated. The Housemistress should always be the first port of call so that there is always one person in the school that has a full oversight of your daughter’s situation. The House phone (01273-704325) is manned each morning from 8.15am until 8.45am and a voicemail system is always in operation. It is worth bearing in mind that you will hear a ringing tone even when the phone is in use, before your call is redirected to the Voicemail system. Miss Cody is frequently available during the day (especially on Monday afternoons and Friday mornings) and often in the early evening or early morning. Every effort will be made to return your call as soon as possible.

Absence

  • Parents/guardians should contact the House on the morning of the first day of absence (before 8.15am) and keep in regular contact thereafter.
  • A note should be given to the Housemistress / Tutor before 8.20am if part of a school day is to be missed due to an appointment. Pupils must sign in and out at Reception.
  • If a pupil needs to leave school in an emergency, in addition to signing out at Reception, the Housemistress/Tutor must be informed.
  • Pupils must sign in at Reception if they arrive to school after 8.30am
  • Pupils who know in advance that they will need to miss a lesson or other school commitment, should see the member of staff involved to explain the circumstances, as far in advance as possible and inform the Housemistress / Tutor.

Off-games

The Housemistress and Duty Tutor must be informed by parents of pupils who, through ill health, are unable to participate on a games afternoon before 8.20am.  Off games pupils must report to either the Library (Sixth Form) or L11 (all others) at 2.15pm (until 4pm) and see the master/mistress in charge of their activity at first break as a matter of courtesy.
