Durnford
The Durnford CrestDurnford House is a day boys house situated in the old squash courts in the center of the school. It is a thriving house of around 70 boys and 6 staff. The house prides itself on its warm and friendly atmosphere and its vibrant and enthusiastic approach to school life.
The clear and undisputed aim of the School and Durnford House is to ensure that there is an attitude of mutual respect for all in the College. The House strives to be a positive, friendly and charitable place where the boys and the tutors are able to flourish and express their individuality without offending others.

Mr King is head of Science and in his second year at Brighton College. He is a keen Rugby player and sailor. - Miss Jane Langhorne, Lower 5th Form: jlanghorne@brightoncollege.net
Miss Langhorne is the Head of Girl’s Games and a highly motivated, kind and experienced tutor. She is an accomplished netball player and when she is not caring for her tutor group and teaching she often holidays abroad, usually in Greece. - Mr Peter Smales, Upper 5th Form: psmales@brightoncollege.net
Mr Smales teaches Physics. He is a very enthusiastic and fun tutor with enormous vitality and good humour. He is well known for his booming voice and he is also a highly accomplished hockey player. He has been with the House for many years. - Mr Dan Gabrielle, Lower 6th form: dgabrielle@brightoncollege.net
Mr Gabrielle is in his first year at Brighton College and joins us as head of the English department. He is a keen actor with a great sense of humour. - Mr Brendan Lambe, Upper 6th form: blambe@brightoncollege.net
Mr Lambe is the Head of IT. He is a very balanced and calm tutor who is always highly supportive of the boys. He is a keen soccer player and a die-hard supporter of Leicester City FC. He is also a keen guitarist and plays in a band.
Keith GueMeet the Head of House
This year our head of house is Keith Gue. He is studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths at A level, and is applying to study Natural Sciences at University. Keith is a 1stXV Rugby player and lives in Steyning.
