Activities for Boarders

A wide variety of events and activities are organised for boarders throughout the year - both in the evenings and at the weekends.  Some of the events involve School House only, but others include the other boarding houses as well.  A few of the highlights are: our formal House Supper, guest speakers, film nights, go-karting, the Mastermind competition, a special celebration of the Chinese New Year.  The swimming pool and the playing fields are open to boarders every evening, and the sports hall and gym are available most of the time, too.  So there are lots of ways of letting off a little steam after a busy day!

Weekends and Trips

Weekends are often a busy time for boarders.  There is an extensive programme of games fixtures for every Saturday and even if a pupil is not  in a team, they are encouraged to go along and support their housemates.  On Sundays, the boys and girls can have a lie-in, and are free to meet up with friends and enjoy the sports and leisure facilities in the College.

Each weekend, boarders and staff arrange ad-hoc trips to the cinema, bowling, special local events, or go out for a meal. In addition, there is a programme of events and outings including  walking on the Downs and trips to London with the other two boarding houses (Abraham and Fenwick).  We have a variety of other trips for the rest of the year, including Crazy Golf, a family picnic day, go-karting on an indoor track and strawberry picking. We warmly encourage the boys themselves to suggest further outings that they would like, and we will endeavour to make them happen!
