Competitions
House competitions
There are a huge number of Inter-House competitions for every one of the girls to think about competing in. Every member of the House should aim to participate in at least one event, during the course of the year. Below are just a few of the competitions in which the House competes. The aim is to win the much coveted House cup at the end of the year; in 2006, Seldon House missed winning the cup by a mere two points!! Most of the following competitions occur at both junior and senior levels:
Sport:
- Sports Day
- Rounders
- Netball - Junior House Netball - Sat 5th Jan 08
The girls played brilliantly in two strong teams captained by Eleni Garidis and Tiff Roberts achieving second place in this closely contested series of matches. It was touching to see how well they played together with such spirit and pride for their House. Jess Appleton and Georgia Adams scored a stream of goals for the A team - 22 in one match! Tara Bhimji and Eleni Garidis worked like clockwork in attack and Gabi Harris, Nathania Hall and Shan Thomas defended with vigour. Helena Haycock, Katie Boyle and Faye Tidmarsh scored seemlessly for the B team supported by Tiff Roberts and Katie Siegler. A special thanks goes to Audrey Phaijit who only arrived at Brighton College on the 3rd January from New Zealand and who volunteered to play although she had only bought her kit hours before the event! She played defense alongside Jemima Hilldick-Smith and the feisty Winnie Lawrence. Thanks to all of you who supported the girls. - Hockey
