House Song

Rock Band

Romanaid is an annual event in which a number of rock bands take part in a charity concert to raise funds for an orphanage that the College supports in Romania as well as being a feature of the yearly  House Music and House Song Competitions. The Music Department has promoted workshops given by musicians from the Brighton Institute of Modern Music encouraging the development of rock music within the College.  Rock Bands are featured in other House events and a recent Battle of the Bands concert, organised by pupils produced an enthusiastic response.

Saxophone Ensemble

A new addition to the many and varied musical activities at the College has been the saxophone ensemble. This ensemble was formed to provide a platform for the many saxophonists to play together and performs in school concerts and chamber music competitions.

Lower School Swing Band

This ensemble is ‘little brother' to the very popular Brighton College Swing Band and serves as a training ground for the senior group. It is open to budding jazz musicians of around grade 3 to5 although brass players are welcome at grade 2. The band perform at concerts and ‘taster days' and their repertoire is varied covering swing, latin, rock and popular tunes of the last three decades.
