A year in an English independent boarding school is an increasingly popular option for German pupils, whose education system allows for a 'Gap Year' half way through their secondary education.
The television company zdf approached us in July last year with a view to making a film about the experiences of one of our own German pupils in the Lower Sixth. A film team accordingly arrived just as Michaelmas term 2007 was starting and filmed the arrival and settling down process of Adrianna Groh from Wurzburg. They returned in March to do more filming and then the result was shown on prime time television in August.
