Assembly
The St George’s credo was to go for the big story, knowing that anything could be tackled as a shared imaginative adventure undertaken by a few actors and an audience. We tapped into that spirit of make-believe and "let's pretend" that links the earliest play of children to the theatre of Shakespeare. Our assembly was a real spectacular with children from all years taking a starring role. Mohammad Tizro was an excellent Al Khadir, Jake Smallwood led the knights of the round table with gusto and four hip-hop dudes: Ben Hornby, Harry Lord, Henry Carr and Harry Corton gave us a witty rendition of “Please Stand Up”. In the dragon making competition Anna Holt, Livi Lower and Evelina Cappai made a beautiful Chinese style dragon whilst Daniel Wheeler and his team created a frightening Dragon’s head. Archie Greenslade was an excellent St George with Marcus Taylor delivering a brilliant monologue as Watkin, his faithful servant. Lauren Stone made a stunning costume and was a very convincing maiden in distress. Alex Yelland amused us all with his very funny pythonesque servant. Everyone else played their part making this a true team effort.
Drama
With some great acting talent St. George’s really is top when it comes to drama. Here Marcus Taylor and Evelina Cappai tread the boards in Year 6’s fantastic production of Peter Pan.
