Brighton College Dance Ballet

Dance at Brighton College is highly celebrated with exceptional performances and first rate dance tuition in a state of the art studio. The breadth of the dance programme reflects the outstanding achievements and talents of our pupils as well as recognising that first and foremost, in addition to being a rigorous and exciting discipline, more importantly it allows the individual to build confidence and self-expression and exceed expectations beyond their dreams.

Everyone can be involved in dance at Brighton College. Our most gifted pupils perform at regional and national arts festivals as well as being Dance scholars or Associates with the Leading Dance conservatoires in England but those who do not profess to be a novice of the art form are equally celebrated and a diversity of dance styles is taught, from ballet to ballroom and hip hop to tap.

Over one hundred and fifty Dance School pupils have the opportunity to study RAD Ballet and ISTD Modern, Jazz and Tap from Pre-primary level to Advanced Vocational and the dance faculty benefits from the experience of a six strong professional team as well as having strong links with guest artists from leading companies such as Matthew Bourne's 'New Adventures' who regularly teach our pupils through workshops and classes.

The aim of the department is to achieve a balance of high technical skill and passionate enthusiasm and the sell out performances of our annual dance show and the Sixth Form Strictly Come Dancing Event are a reflection of its popularity within the school community.
