Over 60% of Brighton College pupils have individual instrumental lessons from our highly skilled team of visiting music teachers.
Lessons are available on all orchestral instruments, voice, classical and electric guitar, harp, piano and organ. Many pupils begin learning an instrument for the first time when they enter the College and some take up a second instrument. Music scholars learn at least two instruments.
Lessons are 35 minutes long and take place on a rotating timetable. Thirty lessons are normally given over the course of a year. Students are also encouraged to enter for ABRSM and Trinity/Guildhall examinations and in 2010/2011 25 pupils gained Grade 8.
