In early October, the chamber choir, accompanied by Canon Stone, travelled up to Southwark Cathedral in London to perform Choral Evensong.
Set in the heart of the city, it was an absolutely incredible location to perform in, with soloists Helena and Cian leading the beautiful setting of Stanford in G. Other pieces performed included The Preces and Responses (Richard Ayleward) and Psalm 37: v1-11 (Thomas Atwood).
The highlights of the service for the choir were the
evocative anthem David’s Lamentation by Joshua Skank
and our exceptional organist Thomas who raised the roof of the cathedral with his stunning performance of Pæan by Herbert Howells.
