Last week pupils and staff across the College participated with enthusiasm in a range of events as part of our annual ‘Green Week’. As a community we are always striving to be kinder to the world around us in a long-lasting and positive way - this was reflected perfectly on Wednesday, when pupils from our Green Team joined their smaller counterparts in the Pre-Prep to plant a variety of new British trees. Even after these pupils have grown up and gone out into the world, these trees will still be growing and flourishing, hopefully in an environment that is more eco-friendly than ever before.
One particular highlight of Green Week was the introduction of our new expanded recycling programme. We are very pleased to now recycle the following items:
- All biscuit wrappers
- All cracker wrappers
- All cake wrappers
- All brands of pens
- All felt tips
- All highlighters
- All markers
- All correction fluid pots
- All correction tape
- All mechanical pencils
- All eraser pens
- All disposable contact lenses
- All contact lens blister packaging
- All foil from the blister packaging
- All toothbrushes
- All electric & battery toothbrush heads
- All toothpaste tube and caps
- All toothbrush outer packaging
- All toothpaste cartons
Please drop off any donations to the hub outside Y14-C, next door to Y13. If you'd like more information about recycling at Brighton College, watch Miss Awbery's animation, which has further tips and instructions.
