We are delighted to once again be the top co-educational school in England in The Sunday Times annual schools guide.
This is the definitive guide to the best schools in the country, based on the most recent GCSE and A-level results. Brighton has been in The Sunday Times’ UK Top 20 schools now for 12 years, and won the accolade of The Sunday Times UK School of the Decade in 2022.
Incredibly, when our Head Master Mr Cairns joined in 2006, the College was in 147th place. Brighton rose up the table every single year thereafter, earning the title of UK School of the Year in 2012, an award it won again in 2019, all rounded off by being named The Sunday Times UK School of the Decade in 2022.
As Mr Cairns says: “It is the consistency of excellence in pupil achievement that matters - every school can have one good year - and what the last decade has shown is that outstanding teaching and learning is truly embedded in the life of the College. What impresses me most of all is that high-quality sport, drama, music, dance and so on are equally deep-rooted. Quite how pupils manage to excel in so many different arenas is beyond me!”
