Sussex-based interior designer Katherine Richards spoke to the children in year 6 at the Prep School about how to create a repeated design and showed some of the many examples she uses and has in her showroom in Hove. 

Katherine set a wallpaper project for the children and offered for the winning entry to be printed into an actual wallpaper. The girls and boys are very excited to participate in the exercise, which will formed their art project until the end of term.

For the first half of term they also looked at interior design and in particular the Art Nouveau style, designing and making beautiful ceramic tiles.

Pupils in the Prep School art department have started to use iPads for creating and storing their work - an exciting new phase in the development of our curriculum.
