Brighton College offers weekly and full boarding from Year 9, with our six boarding Houses providing a welcoming and supportive home from home at the heart of the College community. Our dedicated House staff know every pupil as an individual, offering care, guidance and encouragement throughout their time here.

Located moments from the sea in one of the UK’s most vibrant cities, Brighton College was named UK Boarding School of the Year 2025 & 2026 by The Sunday Times.

Boarding at Brighton College, named UK Boarding School of the Year 2025 & 2026 by The Sunday Times, is built around a warm, supportive family environment that promotes a strong sense of belonging and where every pupil feels known, valued and at home.

Each pupil joins one of our six boarding Houses, where a dedicated team of House staff creates a warm, supportive home from home and a strong sense of belonging. By getting to know every boarder as an individual, they provide the care, guidance and encouragement pupils need to grow in confidence, independence and make the most of life at Brighton College.

Days are busy, with lessons, sport, music, activities and time with friends, but the Houses are also somewhere pupils can relax, talk and simply feel at home.

We would be delighted to welcome you to Brighton College and show you what boarding life here is really like.

Brighton College was delighted to receive an unprecedented three accolades in The Sunday Times Parent Power Schools Guide 2025, which included UK Boarding School of the Year 2025. The esteemed award is based on a range of criteria, above and beyond facilities and results.

Brighton College offers both weekly and full boarding from Year 9, giving families the flexibility to choose the experience that works best for them. Whichever option they choose, pupils become part of one of our six boarding Houses, with a warm home from home, dedicated House staff and all the opportunities of life at Brighton College.

The happiness and wellbeing of every boarder is at the heart of life at Brighton College. Our House staff know pupils as individuals, giving them a trusted team to turn to and helping them feel supported, settled and at home.

Boarders also have access to our Health and Wellbeing Centre, with qualified nurses available 24 hours a day, alongside dedicated wellbeing support.

Food plays an important part in boarding life too. Our catering team understands the importance of fuelling inquisitive minds, while mealtimes provide a chance for pupils and teachers to come together, share their day and unwind.

Our chefs create a wide variety of fresh, nutritious dishes, supported by our dedicated Nutritionist, who helps pupils make healthy choices and understand the importance of good nutrition.

Every evening and weekend, the school belongs to our boarders and is a wonderfully dynamic place to be.

A wide range of exciting activities are available, which complement and enhance academic life and take full advantage of the excellent facilities within the College. This includes our School of Science and Sport, which has its own gym, yoga studio, cinema, pool and rooftop running track. Dance lessons are also available to all at our Dance School.

Our boarders enjoy a vast array of fun and educational activities to choose from. From pizza evenings, film nights in our beautiful cinema, cookery classes, escape rooms, barbeques, jewellery making, beach trips, sea swimming, crazy golf and beach yoga to large-scale performances such as Boarders Got Talent and Battle of the Bands, there is something for everyone to get involved in.

In each of our six senior school boarding Houses we focus on the importance of communal spaces. Each House has a newly refurbished common room, and boarders also have access to their own café in the evening.
