Brighton College pupils are celebrating record results today, with 1,115 grade 9s, more than ever before. 45 pupils secured at least nine grade 9s, with 24 gaining an incredible 10, 11 or 12 9s.
Amongst those achieving an amazing 12 grade 9s was Arjun, Team GB chess champion, who won the U14 British Chess Championship in 2021 and has been playing for the Sussex first team in the 4 Nations Chess League.
Mr Fraser, Arjun's Housemaster, said of him: “I am absolutely delighted to see Arjun achieve such incredible results in his GCSEs today. Arjun is a wonderful young man; kind, considerate and always thinking of others. He is hard-working and dedicated to his studies and it is wonderful to see him receive the brilliant results he deserves."
