2017 was an exciting year for the development of the school site as it opened The Kai Yong Yeoh Building with its top floor Creative Learning Centre. The Centre is the perfect location for the school’s unique presentation classes which help children learn how to overcome nerves when addressing large numbers – an idea developed by the Head Master after he saw how nervous pupils sometimes get when talking in chapel.
At the end of 2019 the school will be opening our latest project, the £55m Sports and Science Centre with university-standard laboratories, a rooftop running track and a 25m swimming pool. The centre has been designed by Dutch architects OMA and will offer state-of-the-art facilities including a double-height sports hall, a cinema-style auditorium and break out spaces for personal research and tutorials.
In the last ten years, ten new buildings have been opened, all designed by world-class architects to create spaces that facilitate better learning, leisure and boarding life. Back in 2015, Pink Floyd’s Dave Gilmour opened the Music School, whose amazing acoustics highlight the wonderful classical and modern music that the children create.
