The Upper Sixth celebrated their graduation on Thursday 1 July, enjoying spending a final afternoon with their teachers and each other before officially becoming Old Brightonians! Each House hosted its own valedictions, with parents tuning in remotely, and it was wonderful to spend time reminiscing about the pupils’ years at the College. This was followed by the Graduation Ceremony, streamed live from the Chapel. Our Guest of Honour, Dame Kate Bingham, shared a thought-provoking and powerful message, encouraging pupils to “do good and do well“ in whatever they do and to not be afraid to take risks. Our Head of School, Patrick (above), then summed up his year group’s time at the College, encouraging us all to reflect on the power of community, which has sustained us all through the recent pandemic. Finally, the Head Master, Mr Cairns, shared his reflections on the leaving Upper Sixth’s time at the College and wished them well for the future. The Upper Sixth then all celebrated with a barbeque on the Home Ground, with the Swing Band providing great entertainment. Upper Sixth Leavers 2021, we wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you at the Leavers’ Ball next term!
