Rt. Hon. Lloyd Russell-Moyle MP recently visited the pupils in the Prep School as part of Politics Challenge Week. The pupils were asked to write letters to their local MP asking for support on an issue they feel passionate about.
Lloyd gave the pupils expert advice on writing a persuasive letter, whilst giving insight into the sorts of letters that he receives from his constituents, he also spoke to the children about his role as a member of parliament (MP).
Lloyd also met candidates from our recent mock election where a broad range of topics were discussed with open questions from both pupils and staff. Some of the discussion topics included: the law regarding skateboarding on the road, Labour’s position on independent schools, Brexit, refugees, the Labour leadership contest and the British arms trade.
Mr Russell-Moyle was inspirational and kind spending valuable time with pupils.
