Our Year 5 and 6 children headed hastily down the coast to Osmington Bay recently as part of their annual Residential Trip.
In glorious sunshine along the Jurassic Coast, not too far from the town of Weymouth, they were initially given a tour of the site (stunning views!) as pupils became increasingly enthusiastic about the activities they were about to embark upon.
After a hearty lunch, they got their first taste of the adventures ahead. Some went paddle boarding, others built a buggy whilst others tried their hand at street surfing and trapeze.
They were all then shown their dorm rooms before dinner. The first evening concluded with a sunset game of capture the flag.
Thursday saw a full day of activities, with some climbing, aeroball and rifle shooting added to the mix. Pupils engaged with the activities well and it was really satisfying to see everyone step out their comfort zone to challenge themselves and just have a go.
They should all be very proud of themselves for this. The support and encouragement the pupils gave each other was so pleasing to see and enabled everyone to do their best.
Our final night was danced away at the disco with our final morning seeing a couple more activities before heading home, exhausted yet full of the joy of spending the past few days with friends trying new things.
Year 6, thank you for being a credit to yourselves and the school. Well done!
