There was great excitement in the Nursery recently as the children had been preparing for some very special visitors -our friends from Hyman Fine House Care Home.
In preparation, the children made shortbread biscuits, prepared new play dough, chose their favourite puzzles and toys and got their much-loved books ready. On arrival, it was lovely to see how the children welcomed our visitors and how quickly the interaction between the generations happened.
It was evident that the children’s sense of wonder and play and their boundless energy was rubbing off on our visitors. They were soon busy reading books, dancing, playing in the sand and much more.
The visit concluded with a story and a chorus of traditional nursery rhymes, with our visitors happily joining in. The afternoon was a wonderful way to promote new friendships and bring the young and the old together. We are looking forward to a return visit very soon!
