Year 2 enjoyed a wonderful and inspiring trip to the beach this term, building on our English work around the beautifully written story Clean Up!. The book’s message about protecting our environment set the perfect tone for our visit, where the pupils learned first-hand about the importance of keeping our beaches clean.

Equipped with child‑friendly tools, pupils enthusiastically took part in a safe beach clean‑up, discovering how even small actions can make a big difference to wildlife and our coastline. The excitement continued with a lively scavenger hunt, encouraging teamwork and curiosity as pupils explored natural features along the shore. They also expressed their creativity through beach‑themed art, using shells, pebbles and seaweed to create imaginative designs.

The day concluded with a cosy storytelling session, where they listened to beach‑themed tales before heading back to school, happy and full of new learning.
