Year 1 pupils had an exciting and enriching Topic Day all about bees. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed immersing themselves in the fascinating world of these important insects and took part in a range of engaging, hands-on activities throughout the day. Pupils explored the key dangers that bees face in their environment and discussed why protecting them is so important. They developed their scientific understanding by labelling the different parts of a bee, carefully learning about each feature and its role in helping bees survive and thrive.
In addition to their science learning, the pupils expressed their creativity by designing colourful posters to highlight the importance of bees and how we can help protect them. These activities also supported their artistic skills as they experimented with layout, colour, and messaging to communicate their ideas effectively. A highlight of the day was dressing up, which helped bring their learning to life and fully immerse the pupils in the topic. They showed great enthusiasm and curiosity throughout, asking thoughtful questions and sharing their ideas confidently.
