Year 1 had a fantastic day exploring the Herstmonceux Science Centre! The pupils were full of awe and wonder from the moment we arrived, and the day was packed with exciting discoveries. A highlight of the visit was the Space Show, where we found out what astronauts really drink in space and learned how they carefully dock a shuttle at the International Space Station.
In the Discovery Park, everyone enjoyed the outdoor science challenges and water play activities. Our pupils worked together brilliantly to build dams and experiment with how different systems move and transport water. It was wonderful to see teamwork, curiosity, and problem solving in action. Inside the centre, the hands on exhibits kept
everyone busy pressing buttons, pulling levers, and testing scientific ideas for themselves. From forces and magnets to sound and electricity, the children explored it all with great enthusiasm. We ended the day with a brilliant Space Workshop before returning to school buzzing with new knowledge and excitement about science.
