The best way to experience what life is like at Brighton College is to join us at an Open Morning, where you will have the chance to talk to pupils and teachers about what makes our school such a special place.
Following in the footsteps of brother Henry, who achieved an outstanding 4 A*s in his A-levels last week, George, who has been playing chess competitively for ten years, received a sensational 11 Grade 9s in his GCSEs.
While studying for his GCSEs, George helped the Brighton College U19 Chess team qualify for the National Schools Chess Finals and he competed in the Cambridge International Open and the Reykjavik Open, with superb performances well above his experience level in both competitions, including drawing with two FIDE Masters in Iceland.
George was unable to attend the College in person today to collect his results, as he is currently one of 24 students selected to attend a week-long training camp to select England’s Maths Team, run by the UK Maths Trust (UKMT) at The Queen’s College, University of Oxford.
George has just qualified for the National Challengers tournament in September, having placed fourth in the Southern Gigafinal (won by brother Henry).
